Creativity and passion turned into practical and high quality composite solutions

CompXworks was founded by two engineers driven by a shared passion for technology, machine building and lightweight composite solutions. What started from hands-on experience with composites grew into a company focused on turning composite potential into reliable, manufacturable industrial solutions.

Combined with a strong passion for machine building, this formed the foundation of CompXworks.

Stefan Papenborg - Driven by passion for high performance and engineering

Already since an early age I came in contact with composites, due to multiple hobbies in watersports. In watersports every kg counts, that’s where the passion for high performance materials began. As the passion for these materials grew, passion for mechanical engineering grew as well, not only engineering them, but making them as well. That’s where it all comes together after all. All these things combined can be found in the basis of CompXworks, where I’m lucky enough to have been able to make a living from my passions.

Gerard Brinks - Passion for lightweight structures

After my Mechanical engineering study, I started my career as a mechanical engineer in the semicon industrie.

In the late nineties composite parts made their entry in my hobby of aeromodelling, where lightweight structures and strength performance on parts as wings are essential. From hobby the application of composite parts grew into my profession as mechanical engineer.

Now, after more than 25 years of hands on experience in mechanical engineering for the oil and gas industry, medical equipment and machine building, I work on composite products for a wide variation in applications.
